Beginner
The typical beginner RC model airplane is a "high wing" model airplane. Just like a Cessna. The reason for this is simple, high wing model airplanes, just like the full size ones are very, very stable in the air.
It might be tempting to go with something sporty looking to start with, however that is false economy and it'll quickly end up in the bin. So instead, stick with a traditional high wing model like a cub or Cessna style and definitely keep away from balsa models to start with, they're just too fragile.
You'll want something made from EPP or EPO foam for a beginner because it'll glue back together easily and even large dents can be brought back with a little hot water.
